Hey all,
I'm working on my friend's Sunbird 170ss with an Evinrude 88 SPL outboard. The boat was working fine and then one day he tried to start it and it just wouldn't start. I did some quick diagnostics and found no spark on all cylinders, to narrow the issue down, I un-plugged the big red cannon plug and used a power probe to the starter to crank it over, still no spark. I traced the wires from the packs to a box on top which I think is the CDI box? Does anyone know how to test this box? Pictures attached.
