Evinrude 88 SPL won't crank with key pushed in for primer

I'm having an issue with my Evinrude 88 SPL where it will crank fine when I just turn the key, but if I press the key in to engage the primer solenoid, it won't crank. I do hear the primer solenoid clicking open when I push the key in. I'm thinking I have a faulty key switch but wanted to get some other opinions before I buy one, anyone else had this problem before?

Yes ---I agree the key switch is faulty.----Or wired wrong.-----Did this issue show up suddenly ?

Any chance you might have a wiring diagram for the key switch? I got the boat this way and it's always had this issue
