evinrude 88spl tach????

i have a 1988 88spl im i need information on two things first is a tach ???? im not sure what im looking for i have found many online but im not sure how many pole the motor is ? also what is a good prop size i have a 1972 hydroswift 19' ive been running a 14 1/4 17 and achieve around 25-27 mph at wot but no clue where my rpms are , any advise would be great , thanks in advance

Get the tach installed then you can get the right prop. Your stator has 12 poles so you need a tach that can be set to 6P.
