HELP<br />I have a 1969 Evirude 9.5 sportwin model 6803. I have had for a number of years. did not use last year. Put it on the water and it run for 10 min under power and quit. It would restart and run somewhat if i continued to pump the primer. I have clean the carb, check the fuel pump diafram and it still will not run. If i put starting fluid or gas in the top of carub it will run for a few seconds until gas is gone. what else can i check for. i know just enough to get in trouble Engine has always run and started good. Could i have an electrical problem or perhaps a vacmum problem

I would replace the fuel pump diaphram and check the fuel hose for air leaks.. If it keeps running while pumping the fuel bulb its pump or air leak normally.<br />Make sure you get the kit that has the check valves in the kit for the pump.

Hi Johnston<br /><br />Are you sure your tank vent opens ? Try to run it without the cap on. When you cleaned the cap, did you clean the small holes in carb body, above the trottle butterfly, these are slow speed jets - run a small wire or one brush from steel brush through and use compressed air afterwards. Test fuel pump function by removing hose to carb and pull starter cord CAREFULL WITH FUEL/FIRE. Does it pump fuel ?

Is it possible to connect gas tank direct to the carub to determine if the fuel pupm is bad. Thanks to all
