Evinrude 9.9 Year? No Spark Troubleshoot

I recently picked up a super clean 9.9 Evinrude. Kinda neat that it's an electric start 9.9. It's been in storage for a couple of years, and the guy I got it from said it was running when stored but now it has no spark. What is a good place to start in troubleshooting the no spark issue, and is there anything historically typical that causes this condition from just sitting?

The model and serial #'s are E10SELCID and E0001077. What year is this one? Thanks in advance.

It's an '81 w/electronic ignition (cdi box). Make sure coil grounds are secured, and ground for cdi box. If still no spark, disconnect/isolate the ground wire from the kill switch (disabling it) and try again to see if you have a bad kill switch. Still no spark.. (check both plug leads). If no spark on both, 90% that it's a faulty cdi box. Could also be both plug wire connections at coil or plug boot, faulty charge coil or sensor coil under flywheel, or faulty wiring from under flywheel to cdi box, or from cdi box to coils.

That is a 1981 engine.
There are no points in your ignition system, I would go to the CDI electronics website and look up your engine. Use their trouble shooting guide to help you find your problem.
