Evinrude 90 Hp (E90ELEC) 1997 - Replacement of water pump

How do you remove the lower housing in order to check or replace the water pump. I understand that there are 5 bolts to remove. How do remove the gear linkages. What else is there to loosen or remove. Does the whole housing then just drop or do you have to slide it off? Does anyone have any schematics or procedures. <br /><br />Also for reinstalling, are there any special requirements (grease, sealant, etc)<br /><br />thanks<br />len

The first thing to do is obtain the correct service manual to gain an understanding of what you are going to do, how to do it, and the recommended procedures, lubricants, and sealers needed.<br /><br />Use the complete factory waterpump kit for best results.
