Evinrude alarm problem

Hello again thanks for all answers 1989 Evinrude 200 XP alarm goes on when I get around 2500 rpm back off and it goes off sitting in nuetral slowly climb up to 2500 to 2700 alarm goes on back off a little alarm turns off. does the same thing in gear seams to hesitate a little as well book says can be fuel shortage any ideas where to start. Water coming out is not hot at all not overheating. Seams to be getting oil smokes as always did if its fuel do u think line, air,fuel pump am i looking in right direction. THANKS

If you have a fuel restriction, the fuel primer bulb would have a tendency to be drawn flat. If this fuel primer bulb does not have this condition, it would be a good idea to drop the lower unit in order to inspect/replace the water ump.

Already replaced the water pump complete assembly this spring. Water pressure seems great. had a thermostat problem last summer alarm came on difference is it stayed on while it was to warm. Now it only goes on above 2500 rpms as soon as i back off it goes off i am confused never had a problem with motor before dont know if its a faulty alarm or what.

Look for all the TAN wires on the mtr. Disconnect one at a time and try it. If you find one that shuts up the horn, that's where the prob is.
