I just got an old evinrude big twin 35
I cannot find a serial number to identify the year modle.
Where can I find the number? I gave a pretty through search for it.
The engine is blue, black, and white.
I need spark plugs. None in it.
I need a fuel tank. Didn't get one.
Does this engine have a fuel pump or does it pressurize the tank to push the fuel in?

Re: evinrude big twin 35

The model number is stamped onto a name plate located on the swivel bracket above the transom clamps. It may be on the welsh plug on the block too. Look for a silver disk about the size of a quarter on the top side of the engine block, just aft of the flywheel.
It sounds to me like you have a '57 or '58 engine there. I belive the '58 engine was the first to have a fuel pump (ie, the '57 had a pressurized fuel tank).
It's easy to tell the difference - the pressurized tank system used a two line hose to the fuel tank, so the fuel connector has two lines hooked up to it. If you check under the hood, if you have part with three hoses going into it and a glass bowl, that's your fuel pump.
Spark plug is a Champion J4C, gapped at 0.030.
'57 Big Twin
