Alright so outboard stopped running the other day and seems to be a fuel issue. When I pour fuel down the carb throat the engine will run until that fuel is used then die. The carb bowl is filling up just fine and the bulb from my gas tank stays nice and firm. I'm new to outboard work and am stumped on what could be causing this. Clogged jet or float stuck?

Clogged main jet or stuck float valve would do it.

Last night i took the carb back apart and thoroughly cleaned every inch of it. Got it on this morning and still would only start when i put some fuel down the throat. But it fired and idled for around 30 min. Then i shut it off and tried to fire it again and once again would only fire with fuel poured down the throat. I mean it runs great once it runs but what is causing it to not start right up after it just ran for a good while

Does the choke close all the way? How far open do you have the throttle when starting?

Most 2-cycle engines need the throttle open and the choke closed to start, but they all seem to have slightly different preferences.

the only way i have been able to get it to start is with no choke and throttle anywhere between half and full with a small amount of fuel poured down the carb throat. After it fires it will idle all day
