Other than cleaning my carb and adjusting the float bowl are there any other parts that need to be calibrated? I have an Evinrude 25 HP 2-Stroke from somewhere around 1980.
Also, is there a suitable liquid gasket I could use for my carb?

Do you mean any other parts in the carb that need to be calibrated? The high and low speed needles need to be properly set, but just cleaning the carb may not be enough. I'd get a carb rebuild kit and new float. That has all the parts and gaskets you need. $25-30.
