Evinrude Cowling and Johnson Cowling interchange???

Does anyone know if a 1976 Johnson 55 hp cowling will fit on a 1979 Evinrude 55 hp? If someone can at least point me to a website where I can find out, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

You can go to http://shop.evinrude.com/ and compare part numbers for the lower cowls. If they happen to be the same, at least there is hope.

only difference in Johnson and evinrude is the colour and the decals,

How's this, my 1987 Johnson 50hp cowl will fit on my 1975 Johnson 50hp. They are the same fit.
