Evinrude E Tec 150 Prop

We put the new Evinrude E Tec 150 hp on my boat with a 15?x17? prop. The boat was very light with no equipment and but 2 gallons of fuel onboard. The engine ran up at 5300 RPS. A few days ago I put the boat in the water for the season with full equipment and full fuel on board. At WOT the tach now reads 4800 rpm with the 15x17 ? aluminum prop. I plan on putting a stainless prop on but would like to hear recommendations before I buy the prop. ?Thank you

You may want to fine tune the setup.Starting with the antiventilation plate(just above the prop)approximately even with the bottom of the boat.Raise the motor one hole at a time until just before venting becomes a problem.
Be sure it pumps water.Carefully adjust trim to the best point.Once you have the new figures we can help with any prop selection.Boat should be propped for typical load and activities.

You probably should put some more time on the motor and work with engine height and trim adjustments before making a prop decision. Engine height (go up one hole at a time) can pick up some rpm. Trimming and load distribution can also help. Make sure all your testing is done with an average load. As you found out, if prop for a light load, adding weight will kill performance.
