Repowering my 18 Hydra-sport. Went to the Miami Boat Show today to look at engine options. Obviously both dealers said their engines were the tops. Any thoughts out there between the two? I'm looking at the 115 models on both.

Re: Evinrude E-Tech vs. Suzuiki 4 stroke

Haven't used an ETEC, but I have used a Suzi DF70.

Based on the reports I have heard and read on the ETEC (most of it biased) they are very comparable in performance and economy. Don't know about price.

If the ETEC is as user friendly, economical and reliable as the Suzi they are two really great engines.

I would go with which ever one has a close-by, quality Service Center.

(209)

Re: Evinrude E-Tech vs. Suzuiki 4 stroke

My good friend has a 115 2005 4 stroke Johnson it's a really nice motor. Quiet, and great on gas.He has asked me of what I thought about trading it in on an E-Tec. The E-Tech is lighter, has more torque, less maintance and fewer moving parts. He also really didn't like the idea of Bombardier dropping the 4stokes from thier line of motors, not a lot of suzuki dealers around here.Oh buy the way the johnson 4 strokes are suzukis
