Evinrude Elto Year???

Hi,

I'm new to this site but I have an Evinrude Elto, Model #4266, Serial # 02313. I know this is a 1.1 hp outboard and was made between 1938 and 1941. Can anyone tell me what the exact year would be based on the serial number or where to look for the information.

Peter Hunn's "OLd Outboard Book" has all the data on most all antique and classic outboards.

4266 is an Elto "Pal", 1.1 hp. 02313 was made in 1939.

Yep, this is the cousin to the Evinrude Ranger 1.1hp. I had one of these and they are pretty cool little engines. I believe the Elto "Cub" was the cousin to the Evinrude Mate. Probably the smallest outboard made. Almost small enough to mix drinks with.
