Evinrude Flooding

Help.....I am having problems with my evinrude getting too much gas. I can pull the spark plugs out after I have cranked on it for awile and they are soaked. What am I to do? Any suggestions? <br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Steelrunn :cool:

Have you checked to see if you're getting a good, hot spark from the plugs?

check that the needle seat valve in the carby is actually stopping fuel when the bowl fills up. You can tell this if the primer bulb in the fuel line goese hard and stays hard after a few pumps.

TWWMM IS RIGHT. ALSO MAKE SURE FLOAT IS LEVEL.REMOVE BOWL AND TURN CARB SO FLOAT IS ON TOP. THE FLOAT SHOULD BE LEVEL WITH THE CARB BODY. IF NOT, BEND THE TAB ATTACHED TO FLOAT. MY 76 9.9 EVINRUDE WAS DOING THE SAME THING. NOW IT RUNS GREAT. THANKS TO AN INDIVIDUAL FROM THESE POSTINGS.
