Evinrude Identification

I'm looking into purchasing an Evinrude motor to restore, but the motor has no model or serial plate. As far as I can tell, it's possibly a 1958 Fastwin 18 - 35 hp electric start. I believe the only number visible is part no 203961. Could someone identify the motor. I want to make sure it's a worthy adventure and parts are available.

Yep, 1958 35hp Big Twin manual start or Big Twin electric start.

Look on the powerhead for a quarter-size round disc with serial # stamped on it. If both serial #'s are missing, suspect it is stolen.

Thanks, that's great! I'll take a look. I believe the seller is an officer, should be ok, but I'm having an invoice made stating the history and to be signed for the sale.

A very good / solid motor when it left the factory.-----Many parts are readily available.-----Other parts may require patience / searching or a similar donor motor.
