Evinrude Lower Unit Oil Question

I can't remember if i changed the oil on my lower unit in the fall. It was a whirl wind of getting the new house ready for the winter, getting married, honeymoon, and getting the boat out of the water after its first season in a wet slip. To be safe rather than sorry I went out and got some evinrude lower unit oil. It looked the same as I had used before. I got home and took my old bottle (half full) and I pulled the drain and sure enough clean good oil. Oh well. I pumped in the remaining oil out of the old bottle which was HPF XR. Then I realized my new bottles are HPF PRO. When the HPR XR ran out I topped it off with HPF PRO. Its about 50/50. Will these two oils play together in the lower unit? I plan on changing it at mid season in case the lower unit springs a leak i will hopefully catch it before it gets ruined. ... A lesson my father learned the hard way. Mid season I will put jusr HPF PRO in.

The boat only gets a little use just putts around our little lake and the occasional tuber.

Its a 1989 Evinrude 120

Re: Evinrude Lower Unit Oil Question

You should have no problem as long as the lower unit is topped off.
