Evinrude Outboard...what year?

Hey everyone, my dad just got a boat for free! It has an old Evinrude Big Twin on it, the only number I could find on it is "SM179". I can't find anything about that anywhere, I wanted to see if we could find a repair manual anywhere so we could get it up and running. Any help would be great. Thanks!

there should be a id plate on the motor around the transom mount.

Post a pic. At least we could say what year the cowl /decal is. Also what Hp is it? If you don't have a pic, what hp is it? Big Twins were 25, 30, 35, and 40 horsepowers

"Big Twin" name was used for many years. We at least need a picture.
