Evinrude problems

I have an EvinRude 70HP Model #E70TCLEM and serial G02264688. This outboard has ran fine since spring. I always hookup the hose mufflers and fire the engine before leaving for a trip. This time, the engine fired and ran for about 1 minute. I pressed in the key to prime the pump and it started again and ran for 1 minut. It has not ran since. The engine turns over fine but will not start. I checked the carbs for water by loosening the screw at the bottom but nothing came out. Also, can someone tell me what year model the engine is?

If you loosened the screw at the bottoms of all three carbs and "nothing" came out it is not getting fuel. Blocked fuel line, sudden (rare) fuel pump failure, tank pickup blocked. <br /><br />If, by "nothing" you mean "no water, but fuel" then you have probably had a failure in the ignition system that affects all cylinders. Ignition switch, wiring harness, etc.<br /><br />Good luck.<br />JB

Thanks so very much for the web address to check the model year.. I had been doing a internet search and all I could find was a link to the omc-online site which returned a SSL error.

I meant nothing no fuel or anything. So my next step is to try and find the fuel filter and fuel pump. <br /><br />Thanks for the info.
