Evinrude Simplex Controls

i figured out what was wrong with my engine (only had 20psi compression in bottom cylinder) and i traced it to the head gasket. parts have been orderd and are on their way. My question is this. I am replacing my Johnson ShipMaster Controls with an Evinrude Simplex that i had laying around. The Shift handle on the johnson controls was broken inside. I need the little brass peice that goes inside the plastic with the two screws in it to lock down the cable. Where can i find those?

You can identify the part numbers you need from the Bombardier website: epc.brp.com. Once you know the part numbers you need, see your local Bombardier dealer. Depending on what year your control is, you may need to look under the OB Accessories tab.

Well see, my concern is this. I have the ones with the flathead screws in either end and they are too long. The ones i need are just barely a half inch long with the screws in it and everything. Are these the smaller ones?

those are the ones i gave you, they have allen heads.
