Evinrude SP

I have recently been shopping for a different boat and motor. I came across a couple of Evinrude SP's 88 and a 112. What is the SP designation and why the odd horsepower rating?

Special.<br /><br />Old technology.<br /><br />Premix 50:1<br /><br />Large run of the same thing to keep costs down.<br /><br />Odd horsepowers or nobody would buy the newer and nicer 90s and 115s.<br /><br />Also offered 28s and 48s.
