I've got a 1977 70hp Evinrude that runs like a top, but it barely spits out any water and occasionally when idling to get a skier or something a small amount of smoke puffs out until we go WOT again. Is this normal? Like I said she's runnin fine.

If the over heat alarm has been tested, is working, and the alarm is not sound over heat, I would not be concerned, but if the water pump has not been changed in 3/4 years, its time for water pump replacement.

Anyone who posts a question and expects an instantanious response better get a grip. Everyone else in the world is not sitting online. How quick is a trip to the shop gonna be? Sit back and give it a few hours or go pay for some service.
