1962 10hp Evinrude. Best to use the 24/1 mixture. Lower unit uses "HiVis" 80/90w, available at Wal*Mart, K-Mart, other various stores, also at your dealership at a somewhat higher price.

Spark plugs = Champion J6C, gapped at .030

(Point Setting Of Magneto Models)

Set the points as follows. Have the flywheel key aligned with the fiber rubber portion of the ignition points. Adjust the gap so that a .020 gauge will pass thru but a .022 will not. Should there be any question of the points being dirty (touching the contact with your finger would cause them to be dirty), clean them with a small brush and acetone or lacquer thinner.

NOTE: Should the operating cam have a small portion on it with the word "SET" imprinted, align this portion with the fiber rubbing portion instead of the flywheel key.

Re: Evinrude Sportwin info needed

Hint: There is a spring under the breaker cam which makes the cam pop up when the flywheel is removed and interferes with setting the points. I made myself a tool to hold the cam down. Nothing but a piece of conduit cut to the right length to go between the cam and the the temporarilly installed flywheel nut to hold it all down.
