I have an Evinrude 12/24 Cobra trolling motor about 12 years old that recently has developed a "dead spot". Most of the time it will start turning as soon as the switch is depressed, but occasionally it will not start until it is manually turned about 30-40 degrees in either direction. It makes no difference which 
speed or voltage combination is selected, a multimeter test shows voltage at the motor terminals under all conditions.<br />Do these units have brushes and commutators? Can they be disassembled and reassembled by someone with a reasonable mechanical/electrical background? Are there any repair kits available?<br />Thanks in advance to all who respond.
