Evirude 9.9 flusher

My friend has a 1999 Evinrude 9.9 hp but has no idea how to attach a flushing attachment. Please inform.

If it's got inlet screens right above the gear case, muffs will do just fine.<br /><br />Slip the muffs over the inlet screens, attach a hose and turn the water on.<br /><br />Don't over rev on the muffs. They are good for about 1500 to 2K rpm....no more.

My mistake! I checked with my friend. It is a 1996 8 HP Evinrude. There are no intake screens to which to apply muffs!
