My 2 hp Honda outboard has died.
I have acquired an OLD Evinrude 2.5.

It is years since I used a 2 stroke engine and my mmemory is fading.
Am I correct in believing that I should not use unleaded petrol?
If so, where do i buy leaded petrol these days?

Is it possible to download a manual for this engine, if so where?

Thanks
Brendan

Re: Eviude 2.5 2 stroke

Leaded petrol was bad for 2 stroke outboards even when it was about all you could get, Brendan. Back in those days many of us went to a lot of trouble to get "AMOCO White" unleaded gas (or Coleman gas sold for lanterns and stoves).

Unleaded (even with ethanol) is much better.

"OLD" is not good enough. Give us the model number so we can tell you the ratio to mix your fuel.

You will also need the model number to buy the OEM Service Manual at www.outboardbooks.com

Tks, JB.
I will look up the model and get the manual from your suggested site.

I really appreciate those who spend time helping others.
