The waterpump on my Volvo Penta 4.3GXi has just been replaced (brand new), but it seems to vibrates excessively, as if rotating on a wrong axis. However it is a brand new pump and the engineer who installed it was puzzled too and checked with Volvo Penta who allegedly said this is normal. I am not convinced and have posted a video of the vibration on youtube as I feel my water pump's vibration is far too excessive: If anyone with a view could take a look and give me an opinion I would appreciate it: (YouTube)
Note: I had a similar probmem with the old water pump 3 years ago, after a change of impeller it was rotating so much that it actually came off its support!!! so this time I am being very cautious as despite the engineer's assurances that they all do this, I have seen many other 4.3 engines without this problem.
I have also found a similar thread on this forum (Thread: excessive vibration of volvo penta seawater pump ) where others have said some vibration is normal, but all videos of this engine on youtube show them with a non vibrating water pump...
Any comments will be welcome. Thanks in advance
