Re: Excuses used by guides
Stephen Leacock, the Canadian humourist, excavated a trout pond, planted all the surrounding area, built a boat house, canoes,- it was a picture perfect little trout pond- except it held absolutely not one fish.
He then invited the editors of the fish and game magazines to his ''country place'' for a weekend of trout fishing- and then wrote an article on all the reasons they gave for not catching any trout-too cold- too hot, missed the hatch, too early in the year, too late-wrong fly and on and on.
Not one of them twigged to the truth- there were no trout in that pond
