I have a 1997 Maxum 2300 SC (23' Cuddy). I repowered with a new 5.7L Vortec engine two years ago. I went ahead and reused original exhaust when I repowered. It is raw water cooled. I am now prepared to replace the entire exhaust system. I live in brackish water in Virginia and am wondering if anyone has real experience with aluminum vs. ceramic coated exhaust in brackish /salt water environments. I've read a lot about the stainless and how the expansion coefficients are different between the iron and stainless, thus causing exhaust leaks. I guess that gives me a bit of concern when considering aluminum vs. iron.

Where will I get the best service life? I'd prefer to spend a little more if necessary to get the best quality. Any thoughts?

Thanks!
