exhaust bellow wont stay on after being clamped alpha 1 gen 1 do you really need exhaust bellows
Replacing bellows in 84 Searay seville with alpha 1 gen 1 out drive. We can get the exhaust bellows on. We tighten the clamp up but as soon as we move it up it slowly slides off. We tried different clamps to no avail. Now my son thought he could put it on without using a bellows tool(like in the sticky thread) so the glue dried when he failed to get bellows installed . He finally broke down and built the bellows install tool and bellow went on easily. Problem is it slides off just as easily. Now all we can think is the glue has turned into a gummy residue and is acting like a lubricant. Any tips for 1 something to use to get glue cleaned up and secondly is it possibly something else? Any suggestions would be appreciated!! .................................. On an edit my son has sent me links that says the exhaust bellows is just for noise and you dont need it....thoughts on that?
