Exhaust boot

Is there any performance difference between a boot, compared to bellows on exhaust? Putting a quicksilver gimbal kit on a friends v-6, alpha 1 and as I disassembled, I noted it has a boot. I'd like to get this done today but he's concerned he'll loose power. I did tell him we could leave the old boot as it's in decent shape but thought I'd see if anyone saw an appreciable power/speed gain with a boot.
Thank you!

the tube came about in 1988/1989 when Mercruiser put Big Blocks in front of the Alpha because the extra exhaust flow would blow out the bellows. the big blocks went away because the alpha drives would go "poof" and grenade and became a big warranty champagne

while the Big Blocks in front of an Alpha drive may be gone, the tube is still here

no way you get any performance increase/decrease with 6.2 liters and below. so your buddy with the 4.3 has nothing to worry about.

My apologies, I forgot to say thank you. Was a busy day and I did use the bellows on that one! Thanks, again!
