I checked my flapper valve today, and although it seems to move it is only held in place by one mounting tab. The other rubber tab seems to have rotted or burned away. I think it would be best to just rip it out at this point. I don't think it would seal much anyway.

I replaced Mine they are a little pricey but they are there for a reason and its cheaper than a hydrolocked motor My y pipe was out so it was easy what I did for extra protection is after the I put them in (make you they are in right long point down), I JB welded the little holes on the pipe that way if the cheezy little rubber groment wears out again the whole flapper doesnt end up deep inside the drive it cant move out left or right but stills swivels open and close perfect,,,

I don't think the flapper is doing much sealing in its present condition. I think I will take it out, before it comes loose and gets stuck in the exhaust tube.
