Well new motor and outdrive installed, now a exhaust leak where the pipe and square flange meet at the outdrive. don't feel like messing with it until the season is over cause I have to pull everything out again (motor, outdrive). its not very loud especially with the engine cover on. My mechanic says.... If it's not leaking oil or water into the boat go with it until the end of season. Any thoughts out there? This is a 1993 190 horizon with cobra system.

I have been looking for the leak, cannot find it, it is not extremely loud just irritating. maybe its a pin hole leak in a pipe. still looking.

Re: exhaust leak

The last time my y pipe was leaking (loose bolts to the interior transom) no exhaust sound, plenty of water entering the bilge. You might reinspect the system.

More likely it's a loose manifold to engine connection. No way you would not be seeing water if that lower connection was leaking.

Have not had it in the water yet just muffs so far. I guess i will have to dunk it in the water to find this leak for sure.

Re: exhaust leak

Do not take it off the trailer, just back it in you will find big leak if "Y" pipe is problem. You said "new" drive package, was it Brand new? I have seen refits from salvage yards where the "y" pipe and transom shield openings are different- their are about 6 different combinations. They will all bolt up but due to openings and "oring" differences they will leak.
