Exhaust manifold broken bolts...HELP!

I just got a 1981 Johnson 70 HP that runs, but dies under power due to an exhaust leak. I had this diagnosed by my local mechanic but he was leaving town for 3 weeks of AK fishing...so I had to do the work.

The problem is when removing the cover, several of the bolts broke off. :( The cover comes loose, but the exhaust manifold and the plate behind it will not free themselves of the rusted bolt shafts. Any ideas on how to get this loose would be appreciated. I have used some light heat with a propane torch, and broken an easy out trying to move them.

Thanks,
Brian

Soak around them with PB BLAST several times over several hours. Then you may be able to lift off the parts. Heat just hardens crud build up.

Once off soak the bolt pieces good. You may be able to catch the pieces and back them out. If not, get left hand dril bits and go to work. Keep soaking as you work. The bolts should back out.

KEEP CENTERED!
