Replacing manifolds and elbows on 1987 Mercruiser 350 Mag. Lots of aftermarket kits, trying to determine which brand to use. Anyone have opinions on the best aftermarket exhaust kits?

I'm looking into getting GLM brand manifolds and risers. Supposedly they flow a little better than the stock mercs. Even if they don't add power, the price is much better than the stock merc replacements.

Re: Exhaust manifold/elbow replacement

I went with an Osco manifolds and elbows kit with plugs, bolts and gaskets. I was very pleased with the quality and price. Bought online for less than $400 delivered to my door for my 5.7 Mercruiser. Just be sure to use new Mercruiser OEM gaskets between the manifold and elbow and throw away the green gaskets that come with the kit. The Osco gaskets that go between the manifold and block are okay to use.

Thanks, since the OEM isn't too much more I'll use those. Of all the dealers online, who seems reputable?

Ayuh,.... I bought a set of those,...

I hada have the riser/ manifold gasket surface decked, because the center was down over .050",...

The gasket couldn't seal, 'n I almost ruined my motor,...

For an extra couple hundred $ the factory kit seems like the safest way to go.
