Its me again. Thanks for the suggestion of Ebasic.com. I called them and they said that this was a dealer item. The dealers say they are backordered and have been for ages. In the meantime "Endless Summer" sits idle and my personality suffers major setbacks. Any suggestions on used sources? How about an aftermarket system? Anything to keep me from going postal on someone! Thanks Guys, I really miss my afternoon cruise at dusk.

Re: exhaust manifolds

If you are looking for a used pair of manifolds for whatever engine you have, I would suggest ebay.

Re: exhaust manifolds

Sorry about that. It is a OMC Stringer drive 3.8 Liter V6. The engine cast numbers show it to be an 85 but the boat is an 87. Is there some way to use merccruiser V6 manifolds on this boat or OMC Cobras? They are not available from OMC and no after market vendor makes them.

Re: exhaust manifolds

Any manifold that fits your block properly and you can “pipe’ out (with elbows and connectors) will work. I would keep it top or end discharge (what ever it is now) and go for it. Have you tried Sierra and Osco directly? Do you have a part #? Maybe I can find a cross over in my big book. No guarantees though.

Re: exhaust manifolds

Like a dummy, I neglected to drain the manifolds. The boat is kept inside a warehouse which has some heat. The part numbers are 910114 and 910156

I'll try to remember to check my sierra book to see if they list them and let you know.

Re: exhaust manifolds

See if Boatfix.com part# cscr618 is what you need. It is for a 229 V6 chevy, or was the 3.8 in yours a Ford?

Re: exhaust manifolds

The one at the top with your part# says V8. <br /> marineengineparts.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/page13.html <br /><br />But it looks like what you need near the bottom of the page. Those are pricey!

Re: exhaust manifolds

Those near the bottom would be what he wants, but as he said at the beginning they are "on back order." The problem is they may never actually come in.<br /><br />The CSCR618 (along with CRR-2 riser and CRR80x3 elbow kit) *may* get him where he wants to be to reach the collector - but he would be better off if he talked to the Osco techs directly. They may have had to help folks in his situation already.

Re: exhaust manifolds

i have to agree with f_inscreenname. put some aftermarket exhaust on and run it through hull. especially if time is an issue

Re: exhaust manifolds

Endless, these are not common parts and most websites won't have them, or will not explain them very well (for instance, what combinations will work). <br /><br />It really does work well to call the manufacturers directly. They all know their parts and will be glad to walk you through. The only real issue may be getting through to them on the phone in the middle if summer!

Re: exhaust manifolds

OK Gang! I have searched from Mississippi ti Skinnydaddy New York for a set of manifolds with no sucess. Does anyone know or know of anyone who has taken a set of 4.3 exhaust manifolds, say mercruiser or any other brand, and installed them on an OMC and piped them into the exhaust port? The Mercs top dump or the OMC Cobra types look like they would lend themselves to this. Could I do yhis and fabricate pipe to tie them in. Think hard folks as I am suffering severe water withdrawals and despertly need a sunset cruise with my lady(aka known as the war department)
