Exhaust outlet

I have an '05 4.3/Alpha I/O. When running it on muffs water and exhaust come out on each side of the I/O at the bottom of the transom. I expected it to come out at the prop. I have looked at parts diagrams of the transom/gimbal/exhaust bellows area but can't seem to get it together. Any help?

There should be water coming out of the transom shield & the prop.....JK

Perfectly Normal. <br />They are idle reliefs to prevent excessive exhaust back pressure at idle.
