Exhaust plastic pipe or ss change the sound ?.????

Hi, have Engine 7.4 (carburetor) and i want to install the exhaust pipe directitly from the exhaust manifold, and i want a really performance sound....... my question is the sound of the exhaust is difentt if i use SS pipe or if i put a silicone or pvc plastic pipe,???? I
