HI, I have a 1987 Mercruiser 350 s/b, 260 hp. I have replaced the manifolds and risers. The riser is a four inch diameter, replacing the three inch. These particular risers have a long exhaust snout that fits into the exhaust pipe. It is about two inches too long. This snout is three iches. Would I be doing any harm to the riser itself of I cut off two inches of the three inch snout that protrudes from the four inch port in the exhaust sideof the riser. Thanks Roman

Re: Exhaust Riser question

on a lot of risers you have to be carefull because of were the water mixes with the exaust

you could end up cutting right through the water jacket or not be able to hold the hose on very well

dons had posted a picture about the same thing and the water went pretty far on that one

tommays

Don't cut it. Replace with the 3" that should be there in the first place.
