1995 200 HP Johnson Ocean Runner

When I pulled the lower unit off to replace the water pump, an exhaust sleeve (not sure if this is the correct name for the part) and gasket dropped out of the middle section.

Is this typical? Any advise, or tips I need to know before I install the sleeve?

Thanks

RHB

Re: Exhaust Sleeve Dropped Out With Lower Unit

RHB.... I think you're speaking of the Inner Exhaust Extension Tube. The larger lower portion of it sits within the top of the lower unit, and the smaller portion recesses within the exhaust housing about the lower unit. There should be a large rubber seal at the bottom of that extension and a smaller one at the top portion.

I always secure the rubber seals to the extension with either "OMC Adhesive M" or "Marprox Sealer 1000", then apply a film of grease to the outer area of the seal so that they slide into their respective areas easily.
