Exhaust Tube Vs Bellows

Hi all. I have an alpha one gen II with a 300hp 350 Mag MPI. What would be the difference in running with the bell housing side of the exhaust bellows disconnected vs running the genuine exhaust tube?

Looked at some old posts in the history and it looks like I can just run without there exhaust bellows. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.

Very very noisy.... You'll hate it within about 5 minutes....

Will it actually exhaust above the water line or always be below?

Without bellows, once you are on the plane, exhaust is out... And LOUD.

Get the boot instead of the bellow. It is louder than the bellow but not nearly as loud as going without anything

Why not just fit a new bellows?

Tried three times to install exhaust bellows and it keeps coming off the bellhousing side.

I have exactly the same set up as you, no problems. Make sure the surfaces are clean, and use the right tools, and bellows adhesive. Allow the adhesive to 'tack off' before proceeding.... Do it absolutely by the book and it won't slip off...
