89 OMC Cobra 5.7
My lower shift cable (red) has about 1/8" where the metal underneath the red plastic jacket is exposed (under the waterline).
It still shifts OK, and I'm not sure if this is a common negligible failure... however I am going to pull the drive for other maintenance and while I am in there was wondering if the shift cable should be replaced or whether it can keep going for another season?
