I want to build a fiberglass box to extend my anchor locker so I can add a windlass.I was thinking of using coosa board and fiberglass over. The pitch now is 110-120 degrees and I would like to extend it out so it would be 90 degrees. My question’s are; How much should I sand past the gel coat? What type of fiberglass sheet should I use? What type of resin?Do I glass inside and outside the box?How many layers of fiberglass over the Coosa? And will this be strong enough to withstand the pressure of a windlass .I want to box out the access panel and place the access panel on the front of the new box.BF8E0CBE-8E3E-4A14-8766-248C4069341A.jpeg8174F25A-3123-4F55-8654-CC56AAD1BF6C.jpeg8174F25A-3123-4F55-8654-CC56AAD1BF6C.jpeg

Coosa board will be fine for what your wanting. The issue is strength and this can be done with fiber glass tabbing, inside and out. Do remove the gelcoat down to glass

Find the windless your wanting to install before making the box. See what the requirements are so the box size can match
