Extra length on Trailer, is it a problem?

I need some help making a decision. I have a 3000lb 19' inboard/outboard and I'm looking at a replacment trailer. The one that has currently caught my eye is rated for a 20-23ft but all other specs seem right. Can anyone think of potential problems with having some extra length? I realize of course that I need to properly set it up but that shouldn't be a problem.<br />Thanks in advance.

if it has an adjustable axles, you will be fine. you may have to adjust the axles, to get proper tongue weight. it can be nice to have the extra length, at the ramp, and leaves space to mount spare tires on the tongue.

I had a 21' boat on a trailer made for 25' boat... I loved it. Adjusted the thing to get the tounge weight right, never did have to get the tires wet on the tow vehicle.

The extra length on the trailer will not make a difference as long as the tongue weight is set right, a longer trailer will actually launch the boat better cause you won't have to bake the trailer into the water as far as a trailer that is set up for your size of a boat, I would just bake sure the bow support can be moved back far enough to hold the boat correctly.

Mine the bunk boards and brackets hung out behind the boat and kept hitting the transducer and speed sensor,I couldnt move the boat back as the axles were rigid mounted, so I had to shorten the bunks and brackets.
