I have an EZ loader trailer from around 1996 here in the UK. Although hydraulic brakes are banned here in the UK I would still like to get them working again. My mechanic has removed the brake drums and says that the pistons are completely seized. Where can I get replacements x2? Please see the attached pics for further information.

Re: EZ loader trailer brakes problem

Hydraulic brake cylinders are rarely specialty items (e.g., built only for EZ Loader) so try to find a casting or part number on the wheel cylinder. Then do a Google or Yahoo search on that number. That number should turn up at U.S. Auto stores like NAPA, Auto Zone, etc. Otherwise, go the EZ Loader web site and see if there is a customer service number to call or an e-mail address. They may even have a parts listing. Why on earth would hydraulic brakes on a trailer be banned. They are perfectly acceptable on a car for almost a century.

EZ loader have come back with the following recommendations:

Seems quite expensive to me, any thoughts or similar products that would fit also?

Not sure why hydraulic brakes are illegal in the UK on trailers, but they are, no trailer centre will even look at them, different to a car though.

They certainly wouldn't require electric brakes on a boat trailer, would they?
