I had a complete failure of the leafspring on my EZ LOADER TRAILER.... All three springs broke at once in the middle where the bolt goes though them....

Has anyone else experienced this

Sure. It happens all the time to people that overload their trailers or fail to inspect running gear periodically. Don't take that the wrong way as I'm not putting you in that category. Spring packs are held together by what's called a "center bolt". The head of that bolt sites in a hole in the spring perch and the "U-bolts" therefore prevents the axle from sliding forward/backward. There are a number of reasons for this failure two of which were mentioned. But springs can weaken over time and since that's where the hole is, that is also a weak spot. Springs are not difficult to replace and I hope the failure didn't result in any more significant damage.

Go to the iboats Review and read my story, "The worst road trip ever". I think it was in the April issue.

If the trailer was poorly maintained -- or significantly rusted through salt water use, and also not maintained -that is the problem. - If they were not really rusted, I would double check the load rating of the trailer components. You might also look at your driving. If you drive over a railroad crossing at say 55 or so-- then you need to make some driving style adjustments. Food for thought.
