When my F225 is hot, and after it has been shut down for a few minutes, then is restarted and I attempt to bring the boat up on plane, it stalls and quits. I can pump the primer bulb and the engine restarts and runs nomally. Three different Yamaha dealers have looked at the problem. The last took the boat out with instrumentation on the fuel system and could find nothing wrong. He thinks the problem is vapor lock, and said there is no fix.
I am aware of a technical bulletin, Vapor Recovery Kit, that is applicable to my engine, but the tech support guys in Atlanta don't think this mod will fix my problem.
One of the Yamaha dealers replaced the LP fuel pump in the engine. I have the old pump. There is nothing wrong with it. I'm thinking about installing it between the primer bulb and the engine, and turning on the pump for a few seconds when the engine begins to stall.
Any ideas?
