i have upgraded fro a f60a to a 2007 f60c, basically carburettor to EFi. i have noticed a rattle or tinny sound on start up on this new motor which lasts about 5 seconds and goes away. it tends to do this when cold or sitting for a while.
If it was a car you would say it is the exhaust rattle with the noise seeming to come from the lower end and sounds like a tinny rattle/ vibration .

It only lasts a few seconds and goes away. It almost goes away when the motor pee hole reaches maximum pressure?????? or stabilises.

The motor runs faultlessly and i am very impressed.

Is this a normal sound for these motors as the whole sound is different from the carbi model to the efi. This motor sound a lot tinnier.

Anything wrong??

hi all,

still no luck with the rattle- it sounds like it is coming from the lower unit on the port side. It is a f60d not c and can it be the water pump???

as the exhaust is water cooled and uses water to silence it you most likly are hearing exhaust noise until you get water pressure to fill the block and exhaust cavities.

as the exhaust is water cooled and water silenced and it actually does take a bit to fill the block and water passages. yes.
