I lent my boat to a friend of mine a few weeks ago he complained of bogging, so i decided to clean the carbs on my 1999 F80. As i did this i took pictures of the various stages of tear down, put everything back together and motor starts and idles perfect haven't taken it out for a water test yet. Last night I looked at the pictures and notice the greyish/white scaling texture around the middle cylinders next to fuel intake. Jeeze, i missed this when it was staring me right in the face. Anyhow, Is this caused from excessive heat? I am worried I may have cooked a cylinder or 2, or worse. I have yet to do a leakdown test, but i am afraid that i may need to have a look at the cylinder head, valves and pray it does not go any further that the head. Are there any special instructions/tricks i need to know about. I have a decent manul and the tools, and heck of a lot of patience. Looking forward to you help with this one.
