I'm looking at a boat with a F80 AET Yam 4 stroke (serial 67GL 30347 5T) dating from about 1998. The engine is in the UK.
It has an analogue tach and a seperate analogue tilt guage. The engine seems to be running well, but I was suprised that there is no hours showing on the guage.
How can I find out how many hours the engine has run? Can this be read off the engine by plugging something in?
Does anyone know what options there are for fitting an hour meter to the engine? Or even a tach / hours combo?
My current boat has a F40 year 2004 with a digital multi function tach which includes engine hours. I don't suppose you can retro fit this on to the older 80 hp?
I am amazed that this boat has been running for years without any hours being indicated for servicing.
Cheers, Andy.
